A Letter from Chad & Abbey
We are so happy you are looking at our profile! Our family is very excited to be on this adventure and can’t wait to see what the future holds. We are a family of five that loves God and the lives he has given us. Ever since God opened our hearts to adoption, we have been excitedly preparing to share our lives with another little one! We look forward to keeping in touch with you at your comfort level through pictures, letters, and visits. Our family is very active and we love to do things together especially playing outside, playing games, creating art, and of course, reading!
We are high school sweethearts that have now been married ten-years. We have three wonderful daughters, Piper, Suzanne, and Wren, and are thrilled to now grow our family through adoption.
Together we love: playing mini-golf, doing puzzles, and taking trips either just the two of us or as a family. And, of course, we love being parents! We are excited to welcome your child into our family and look forward to teaching him/her to love books and how to play games and fish. We are also excited to teach them how to paint, express themselves, and look forward to supporting them as they grow. We can’t wait to love them and have that life join our family.
Chad is such a good man! He is driven and focused and always has goals and dreams that he works hard to make happen. Chad is a wonderful dad and husband who puts me and our girls first and loves us fiercely. He is a Firefighter/paramedic, a job that he LOVES. He is very handy and loves to work on our house and yard and especially his vintage JEEP. He is super active, a morning person, and he loves to do things like rock-climb and fish (especially with our girls). Chad is a fantastic cook and is our family grill master! He will be a fantastic adoptive father and is so excited to teach our next child how to fix things and how to ride a bike. He is looking forward to all of the adventures and escapades we will have together!
Abbey is one of the kindest people I know, and I am so blessed that I get to share my life with her. Abbey is a spontaneous free spirit with a zest for life! I love watching Abbey interact with our girls: she is so loving and never misses an opportunity to teach them something new. Abbey is living her dream as a stay-at-home mom; she homeschools our kids and keeps our family running smoothly. Abbey loves to create art of all kinds especially drawing and painting. She is plant crazy – she has things growing everywhere. Abbey is excited to read to our next child and teach them to love books. She is so excited to see our family grow and to love our next child!
Our three daughters are excited to welcome their new sibling to the family; they will love them completely! Piper (7), Suzanne (Zuzu) (5), and Wren (4) are amazing little girls and SO different from each other. Our family loves to dance and watch movies and play outside, and our favorite family game is hide-and-seek (seriously you should see Chad!).
Our extended family is so supportive of us. Chad’s side mostly lives in Texas on a farm and we talk on the phone and video call them often. Between them coming up to see us and us going down to visit them we see them a few times a year.
Abbey’s family mostly lives within ten miles of us! Her brother and his wife live in Texas too, but we see her parents, sisters, and nephew multiple times a week. We love going over to “Mam and Grandpa’s house” and Sunday dinner is a wonderful event that we all spend together.
We live in a beautiful historic house in the same little town Abbey grew up in! It is the perfect place to raise children, with lots of parks and safe roads to ride bikes on and plenty of friendly neighbors. We have a wonderful library that we walk to often. Chad especially loves having his own home, and he always has some house projects going on. We have a big back yard, and we are outside as much as possible.
We promise to be good, happy, loving parents who will be honored to raise your child. Family is something that we are passionate about and that we know God has called us to. We promise that we will raise your child to thrive and meet their fullest potential. We will love them unconditionally and will raise him/her to be caring, thoughtful, and kind. We promise to help your child find interests that they are passionate about and we promise to raise them to be the best person they can be.

More About Our Family
Piper, loves art and anything crafty, especially drawing. Our loving firstborn is a typical oldest who likes to be in charge! She is a super big sister and cousin. She is especially excited for our newest addition since she is really big enough to help out and remember it all.
Suzanne (Zuzu) is our little spitfire! She is vibrant and funny and very outgoing. She lives life to the fullest! Zu loves anything that involves moving, most of all dance. Out of all of our children she is the most tender hearted and empathetic, though she is never holding still she will stop to love on you for a moment before running off on her next adventure!
Wren is ornery and spunky and definitely has a mind of her own! She is a people person and loves to chat with ANYONE, which can make for interesting trips to the grocery store. If she wasn't clearly the smallest I think people would think she were the oldest from how much she tries to boss her big sisters. She is always keeping us on our toes!
God and church are a huge part of our family. Both of us were raised in Christian homes and we are trying to raise our kids up to have a deep relationship with Christ to the best of our abilities.
We have been going to the same church for over 13 years and we love our church family immensely! We have always felt love and support from them but going through the adoption process has made us really realize just how much we value them. The children look forward to going to Sunday school every week and we are just as excited to see our small group and worship.
Our Musical Interest
Our taste in music could not be more different. Between the two of us we listen to just about everything!
About Our Home
We live in a small but happy home. It's a three bedroom that we moved into in summer of 2013. It has an open plan kitchen-dinning room-living room and a small play room. Our favorite part of our house is the big backyard! There is hardly a day that we don't play in the backyard and hardly a night that we don't sit on our front porch after dinner.
Our Extended Family
Chad's side of the family lives on a small farm in Texas where they raise chickens, goats and bees and where we love to visit. Chad's dad is a Christian counselor and his mom makes products from their farm that she sells at their local flea market. Chad comes from a big family of eight kids, seven boys and a girl, and most of his siblings live near his parents.
Abbey's parents and two sisters all live within ten miles of us and her brother and his wife live in Texas. We love living close to family and see them all the time! Abbey's parents still live in the house she grew up in. Her dad is semi-retired from the Ag business and her mom is the children's director at our church. Neither of us had family close by when we were growing up, and so we really cherish the fact that we get to raise our kids this close to our family.
We live in the state of...
Illinois. But not city-Chicago-busy Illinois, we live in small town, corn and fields and open space Illinois!
We love our neighborhood. We live an entire eight blocks away from Abbey's parents and sister and nephew! We go over to their house multiple times a week. As we've mentioned we live in a small town and we walk or ride our bikes everywhere. Our town has a wonderful library and lots of parks and we know just about everyone. We always feel safe here and knew when we got married that we wanted to raise our children here.
We Prefer a Child Who Is...
Age of Child
Anyone younger than our youngest (who is four). We would like to maintain our kids' current birth order.
Sure, the more the merrier!
We are absolutely happy with either! We are pleased with whatever God places with us.
|Ethnicity of Child||Any|
Future Contact with Birth Family
We would really love to have an open adoption relationship but we also understand if that's not what bio-mom wants. We feel that the more people loving on a child the better and we would love for our child's bio family to always be a part of their life.
We are a good team and love parenting together and we are so looking forward to this next adventure as a family. We are ready. Our Homestudy is done. Our funds are there. Our house is ready. Our children are ready. Our hearts are READY! We are praying for you as you make this decision and hope to hear from you. God destined us for adoption as His children through Jesus Christ according to the good pleasure of His will Ephesians 1:5
